Arts Congress
Monday February 1, 2010
All new format this year. Topic: The Arts As Part of the Solution

This year's Arts Congress brought over 200 advocates and supporters to downtown Phoenix to receive advocacy training and for personal meetings with their legislators.

The morning began at 9am at the Wells Fargo Conference Center. Advocates checked in, received their packets, group assignments and appointments. Advocates then proceeded to the conference room for words from the AzAA Board President Rusty Foley, the Arizona Commision on the Arts Executive Director Robert Booker and the AzCA/AA Executive Director Brenda Sperduti. A brieft advocacy training session was given, then advocates were sent on their way to the Arizona State Capitol via public transportation (THE DASH) for their meetings, lunch, and to participate in Senate and House Floor Sessions and a special Arts Education workshop given by AzCA/AA Public Ally Michael Soto.
