Know the Candidates
Voting is one of our greatest responsibilities as
US citizens. Being an informed voter is an important
part of the voting process.
Arizona Action for the Arts, your
grassroots advocacy organization, has put together
a strategy that focuses on selected Arizona races
where voters have the opportunity to elect individuals
who will support public funding for the arts by the
Arizona Legislature and arts education in our schools.
Key legislative districts with contested races for
either State Senate or the House of Representatives
were selected because there was an opportunity to
identify and support arts-friendly candidates. The
selected Senate races are in Districts
4 and 5. Selected House races are in
Districts 6, 8, 11 and 15.
All candidates were invited to one-on-one interviews
with representatives of Arizona Action for the Arts,
including board members and active arts advocates
who live in those districts.
Please
review the results of these interviews here.
