ow,
more than ever, we need your arts advocacy as budget
cuts are made at the expense of the arts. Seeing
more than constituents annually at your Arizona Arts
Congress event is a powerful factor in influencing
votes for the arts budget at the state legislature."
--Carolyn Allen, Arizona State SenatorThere

Become an Advocate
An
Arts Advocate is someone who is willing to
speak, plea or argue in favor of the arts. A chorus
of loud and harmonious voices is needed year-round
to accomplish our arts advocacy goals. We are students
and teachers, residents of urban and rural areas,
artists and arts administrators, business professionals
and retired folks. We are Arizonans from all
walks of life.
When a bill about the arts is presented to the Arizona
legislature, we will send an Action Alert
asking for your support. As an advocate,
you may respond by any of the following:
- Make a call or writing a letter to your district
senator and representatives
- Set up a meeting with your legislators
- Inform your friends and colleagues of the issue
- Be a legislative liaison
- Become a district captain
Our Strength Is In Numbers and your
voice is needed; it's up to you to choose how to use
it. For Legislative Alerts and to stay informed, sign
up for our mailing
list.
